Small Group study itinerary

Israel Basics small group study topics by date.

Meeting Monday evenings at 6:00 this 2020 fall location TBA. There is space for 20 people. Please text your name to reserve your spot at 205-903-2585.
Bring your Bible, a notebook and pen, a desire to learn something new (and optional if you're more comfortable, a mask). If you want to order the books, all material is taken from Israel Basics and Israel II: Beyond the Basics they are available on Amazon, or Kim will have a few on hand.

Sept 21--Introduction, Worldview, Intro to Hebrew language and thought
Homework: Read Genesis, really dig in and pay attention to the details.
Sept 28--​The Feasts of the Lord as Rehearsals and End Times Leadership (this is in the middle of the High Holy Days Yom Kippur is this day (finishing at sundown). Feast of Tabernacles runs Oct 3-9.
Oct. 5--Covenant God of a Covenant People, Gen 1-5, Genealogy, The Call of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob at Beit El.
Bonus reading: Israel at Sinai and wedding analogy of God
Oct 12--​Exodus of the Hebrew Slaves,  The giving of the Torah, The Desert & Conquering the Promised Land, Samuel, Saul & David (ch 3 & 4)
Homework: Read Exodus
Oct 19--Jewish history from Solomon to the return of the second Exile, The Maccabees & Hannakuah, prophecies of return (ch 5)
Homework: watch this video about Masada before next week.
Oct 26--​3 Herods (ch 6) The Destruction of Judea & 3rd Diaspora, Masada’s Last Stand, Where did the Jews go?
Nov 2--The Palestinian Problem (ch 10)
Nov 9--​Modern War Story Miracles (videos)
Nov 16--The Split between the Church and Judaism 
Homework: explore this Holocaust survivor website and hear some stories before next class
Nov 23--​The  Holocaust 
Nov 30--The Birth of a Nation, 19th & 20th Century Europe
Dec 7  Finale Class Hannukah/Christmas Party--the story of Hannukah and wrap up Q&A
